Microsoft Education Licensing Made Simpler
Mon 14 July, 2014
Keeping on top of software licensing can become a time consuming matter. You don't want to be caught with unlicensed software and at the same time you want to make sure you are using your software budget effectively.
Microsoft Open Value Subscription Agreement for Education
Despite the long name, Microsoft Open Value Subscription Agreement for Education Solutions (also known as an OVS-ES agreement).
It is designed to make it easier to subscribe to software services and provide a simpler purchasing experience. What's more, you can buy it through any Microsoft Authorized Education Reseller.
Who is it for?
The program is for primary schools, secondary schools, Further and Higher Education institutions with at least 5 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) employees.
What are the benefits?
- Cost effective - Easy asset management - No CD-ROMs to lose - Simple to add new software at any time - One simple subscription agreement - Immediate access to product upgrades
How much does it cost?
Pricing is cost-effective and based on the number of FTE staff in school. Microsoft classify FTE as anyone who works more than 200 hours per year. However, you can exclude site management and catering staff if they don’t use school computers. Soft Egg are a Microsoft Authorized Education Reseller.
